Save Our River, Plant a Tree

SAVE OUR RIVER, PLANT A TREE
Danao City Cebu, Philippines — Some 1500 volunteers from various government and private institutions led by the Land Bank of the Philippines planted around 5,000 tree seedlings on the riverside of Tangon River, Danao City, Cebu. The Tree Planting Activity of Land Bank of the Philippines is in partnership with the City Local Government of Danao and will be held within the next 4 years. The pilot activity took off last August 6, 2010.
Mr. Zamora of LBP said the tree planting activity is not “an end in itself” but just the start of a series of reforestation activities to be undertaken within 5 years by LBP and their partners to ensure the growth and maintenance of the planted seedlings.
LBP’s partners in the implementation of this activity include Danao Employees Cooperative, Danao City Bikers Club, Department of Education, Cebu Mitsumi Employees Cooperative and Natures Legacy Eximport, Inc.
Pete Delantar of Natures Legacy Eximport, Inc., spearheaded the delegation with his daughter Katrina and the rest of the staff. As an advocate himself, he encouraged his employees to join the activity and be involved in environmental awareness.
“Save our river, plant a tree”. Lets all join forces for the environment.
