Think of the word "trash" and these things may come to mind: an old tarpaulin left on the sidewalk, an empy soda can on the street, a plastic bag afloat on the sea.
Perhaps most of us have grown up with this concept of trash in mind, as if being useless is the definite end to an item's "lifespan".
